The SóSligo Food Festival starts today and runs until Sunday.
March 16th – March 20th.
A few weeks ago I entered one of their competitions to help come up with a New National Dish of Ireland. One of our recipes (Click here for Cabbage Rolls) has been selected so we are Sligo bound this weekend to compete against seven other finalists to see which dish will win. (Yes, I am a nervous wreck over this, but I am really looking forward to hanging with some other foodies).
SóSligo is in its infancy with this being only their second year but the buzz on Facebook tells me that this event is already an enormous Gastro attraction for the West of the Island. Well done Sligo!
The Chef & I are excited to have the opportunity to participate in this event and can’t wait to meet the other finalists and try their yummy creations.
So, if anyone is looking to do something fun this weekend I would suggest heading to Sligo for an event that caters for families hungry for fun and food!
Those are all the WiseWords I have for today,
WiseMóna
PS – Oh yeah, I hope everyone is getting their green-on for the Paddy’s Day celebrations tomorrow!
Send me photos/comments if you try the Cabbage Rolls. They are yummy!
